Ahh, the 80’s. This is me in the fall on 1981, the year I started Middle School. Did anyone else not like middle school as much as me?? Way to many hormones to deal with, and a large introduction of exactly what a clique was. Thankfully where I went to school we only had to suffer through 7th and 8th grade there before being dumped into High School, which was much better for me!
And no, I don’t think this dress qualifies as plaid, much more of just a light check pattern, of course it was handmade for me by my mom! I was 12 in this picture.
Family vacation at the end of the summer in 1981. My brother was 15, and obviously not to pleased to be on a family vacation in the first place! And yes, that is plaid he and my dad have on. I guess my new Tuesday venture needs to be finding pictures of my family NOT wearing plaid??!!
“How do you play along? We all have tons of photos from the days before the digital camera. I figure if I just scan a few each week, eventually I will get them all safely into my computer. But you don't need a scanner to participate! - Just find a photo that takes you back to another time. Every week you can come back here and share photos that "take you back." Maybe it is the bad hair we all had in the 80's, the bell-bottoms you swore were so hip in the 70's, or your favorite pictures of your kids! If you decide to participate, sign the Linky below and I promise to head on over and spread some comment love your way!”

Oh middle school was the worst. I dread the day my boys get to that age and deal with all the crap that kids go through. If only we knew as kids what we know as adults it would make those times in life so much easier. I had one full year that I got mad at a friend in middle school. We made up but lost one year of friendship and 4 years later she died. Hard to except that we threw away a year over who knows, something really silly I am sure.
You were cute! I call that pattern gingham! My middle school was 7th and 8th grades together too!
What a cute picture!!! I don't remember hating middle school when I was in it, but Jr High was a big challenge for both my older boys & I've currently got a son in middle school who definitely HATES it.
I have to LOL about your family & the plaid. I've come across a true love of anything striped in many of Hubby's old family pictures.
You were so cute! Love all the plaid and checkers. Where we lived there was no middle school. We had k-6 and 7-12. Moving up to the high school was nerve wracking to say the least.
I have yet to meet anyone that LIKED middle school!
My son is in middle school right now, and he just got done telling me yesterday that he wishes he could just skip it all and move on to college!
I moved right before I started Jr. High...it was a nightmare! Thank goodness it was only two years! :)
How cute are you! I was always a fan of plaid and I'm so glad it's "in style" now.
I can't say I am too fond of plaid, although the dress doesn't look too bad! Mind you, I wore yellow overalls!
Love your meme - and your scanning goal. You might inspire me to get out my old photos too! Thanks!
