Quotable Sunday

Welcome to another edition of Quotable Sunday! In light of the fact that it is back to school time, and for the first time I had a child join the ranks of school agers, I have put together a few quotes on Education and Learning.

My favorite quote of the week came from my daughter after I asked her late last week if she was liking Kindergarten. She said “they just make you do work all the time!”

This picture pretty much sums up her hesitancy about going to school on the first day. It did get easier for her later in the week. I am hoping this week she may even find something she enjoys!

You can finish school, and even make it easy, but you never finish your education, and it is seldom easy. ~ Zig Ziglar

Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire. ~ William Butler Yeats

Great quotes! My 3 have been in and are still in High School. My boys have always loved school. My favourite quote is: "Once children learn how to learn, nothing is going to narrow their mind. The essence of teaching to make learning contagious, to have one idea spark another." ~ Marva Collins

LOL, my daughter started kindergarten too this week. I asked her earlier last week if she was excited to go to school, she said, "Yeah, I get to spend a whole day without you!" Ah, the joys of parenthood.

How funny! I hope school has improved and is more enjoyable. My son keeps saying all they do in first grade is write, write and write and it makes his hand hurt.
