In My Neighborhood Tuesday ~Halloween

Welcome to In My Neighborhood Tuesday, brought to you by Eighty MPH Mom!

THIS WEEK:

October 26th: Fabulous Costumes – Clever/fabulous Halloween Decorations or Costumes (if posting costumes make sure to blur faces if it’s not your child)

First up we have the neighbors house.  Kind of looks like Christmas here on the Day With Two street!  We have blow up pumpkins, and strung lights, and the lights in the front are supposed to look like body’s that are partly buried in the ground!  Yes, you should see what these folks do at Christmas time!!

This would be my Cutie Bug!  While not his Halloween costume, when I saw this shirt on the clearance rack at Wal-Mart last year I just knew I had to have it.  Strange, but his sister fails to see the humor in this!!

In My Neighborhood Tuesday ~In Flight

This weeks assignment was In Flight – Post a picture of an airplane, from an airplane, a bird in flight or anything else in flight.

This is a favorite old picture of mine, actually taken with my trusty 35mm camera in 1989! We were on our way from Colorado to San Diego to see my brother graduate from Marine boot camp at Camp Pendleton! I was just 20 years old and was probably very excited to be on an airplane for the second time in my life!

A Day For Quotes ~Gratitude

After a trip to the grocery store yesterday my daughter was helping me put away the food.  She turned to me and said “wow Mama, there is hardly any more room in the fridge for more now”.  I told her we must be grateful that we have the means to put so much food in the fridge!

Today I give you Gratitude.  Have a wonderful Sunday my friends!

I challenge anybody in their darkest moment to write what they're grateful for, even stupid little things like green grass or a friendly conversation with somebody on the elevator. You start to realize how rich you are. ~ Jim Carrey

Do not be concerned others not appreciating you. Be concerned about your not appreciating others. ~ Confucius

Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: it must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all ~ William Faulkner

God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say "thank you?" ~ William A. Ward

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

In My Neighborhood Tuesday ~Mailbox

So apparently everyone in my small town is not into mailboxes! I looked, I made Hubby drive so I could look, and then after 5 days I finally gave up looking. Apparently no one in our town has a cool mailbox.

So I give you ours. It was inherited don’t you know. The birdhouse isn’t mine, is not my taste so please don’t tell me it’s cute. I know it is, in a homey sort of way gag.

2010-10-11 mailbox 002

If my husband got to choose a mail box, this would be his: It’s a biker thing, don’t you know.

I would like mine to change with the seasons. This would be mine just about right now…

If your neighbors actually have a cool mailbox, or if you do too (and you have a picture) jump over to Eighty MPH Mom and get your picture up, because you so know you want to join in on In My Neighborhood Tuesday with Eighty MPH Mom!
