Aloha Friday #2

Yea!! It's Friday!

As we approach the time of year with holidays at every turn, My question for today is:
What is your favorite holiday?

For me Christmas! Even before I had kids it was my favorite by far!

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link on the MckLinky included in the Aloha Friday post. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Take Me Back Tuesday ~1995

May 20, 1995.  My wedding day!  Hard to believe it was over 14 years ago, and still going strong!  No special reason for posting wedding pictures today, just thought you might be tired of Halloween!

Quotable Sunday ~What Matters

Welcome to another edition of Quotable Sunday! Today are just a few quotes related to What Matters in life. Have a favorite one in the list, or one of your own? I would love to hear it!

The things that matter the most in this world, they can never be held in our hand. ~ Gloria Gaither

What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win too. Even if it means slowing down and changing our course now and then. ~ Fred Rogers

It's easy to make a buck. It's a lot harder to make a difference. ~ Tom Brokaw

In the final analysis it is not what you do for your children but what you have taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful human beings. ~ Ann Landers

Tell your child often “I love you, no matter what.” ~ Cindy Francis

A loving relationship is one in which the loved one is free to be himself to laugh with me, but never at me; to cry with me, but never because of me; to love life, to love himself, to love being loved. ~Leo Buscaglia

A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child. ~ Forest Witcraft

Aloha Friday #1

Yea, so I don’t know what is up with me and actually posting this week, but I thought it was about time to jump in on Aloha Friday’s! If you need an explanation on what this is see the description below from Kailani’s blog at An Island Life!

My question for the week is: How long have you been blogging, and why did you start??

My answer is I officially started my blog in February of 2008, but I am not sure it counts because my very second post was in January of 2009. It was kind of a new years resolution that I actually stuck with!

Why did I start blogging? To have a written record of the lives of my children. Then I found the giveaways…… Then I found the friends!!

Haven’t looked back since. My one regret is that I don’t have more time to do it!

Our Day

Welcome to Colorado!  This is what our backyard looks like right now!

Toddler boy is not pictured because he looked outside and said “I don’t want to go outside right now, Sister likes cold, I don’t!”

Sadly, I took today off to help at my daughter’s Kindergarten Halloween party.  No school, no party and a bunch of Sunny D drinks I was supposed to take.  I was really looking forward to my first “help in the classroom day”.

So, how is your weather??
