I’m Here, Plaid, and Take Me Back Tuesday

Hey folks!  I have been a slacker blogger and I am sorry!  I am here, I haven’t been around to comment, and I haven’t posted, but I am here.  The end of the week always gangs up on me at work, and I never get around to posting.  Then Saturday came and Hubby was home on a weekend day (Yea!), and then for some reason on Sunday, I didn’t want to blog, I didn’t want to enter giveaways, and I never got the chance to visit all of you!  I sure hope to get caught up this week!

So here we are on Tuesday, well Monday Night actually.  I give you Plaid from 1977!  I mean really, who thought this was a good idea?  I was 8, Matt was 11 (that would be my brother BTW) and my parents were young.  Oh wait I say that every week don’t I?!?! 

I just like these pictures, because we rarely got a photo with each parent at the holidays.

Take Me Back Tuesday ~Don’t You Wish It Was Summer!

Take me back to Summer of 1971! Don’t you wish you were in your shorts and sundress too? I sure do!!

This one always make me think “What you talking’ about Willis”? (Sorry, I wasn’t even that big of a Different Stokes Fan!)

My brother and I, and the best dog every “Smokey” in the summer of 1971! I would have been 2 1/2, my brother was 5 1/2. Sometimes I love looking at these pictures just because I love how much my parents neighborhood has changed! If that swing set was still there, you so would not be able to see any house behind it, as the trees have gotten so big!!

Our Week In Pictures

Ten pictures of daughter pouting this week, go figure! So you get one pouting. My Cutie Bug and his laptop addiction.
His eyes are doing great by the way! The doctor was very pleased on Wednesday, everything worked just the way they wanted it to. One more visit to make sure his eyes are aligning correctly! Thanks again for all the wonderful comments and email I got with your prayers and thoughts for him!

Wordless Wednesday ~And An Update

So here he is, in all his red eyed glory! My friend said (in jest of course) he looks like he belongs in Twilight!

We are 6 days post eye surgery to realign my Cutie Bug’s eyes from a condition know as Strabismus (post about that here). This picture was from Sunday, the red is his eyes has started to fade and as far as we can tell, the surgery did it’s job! His eyes no longer drift to the outside! Physically he is feeling fine and has no complaints about any pain or discomfort, although he doesn’t like the antibiotic cream we put in his eyes 2x’s a day very well. We visit the doctor today for a post-op check and to make sure everything is going well.

A big thanks to everyone who kept him in your thoughts and prayers during this time! I will update on the doctor visit too!

Take Me Back Tuesday ~Happy 1st Birthday To Me!

Take me back to January 20, 1970!

Yep, thats me in the high chair my Mom still has!  The one my kids ate in at the very same dining room table!  My brother would have been almost 4. 

Look at how young my parents were!  I say that every time though don’t I? 

Birthday’s always included Grandma’s too!  My mom’s mom on the left and my Dad’s mom on the right.  In this last photo everyone is helping me play with my birthday present, stacking cups!  My mom still laughs about the fact that this was the only present that I got for my 1st birthday!  Quite a bit different than my kid’s 1st.  And yes, my Mom still has those cups too, my kids play with them when we go visit her!
