A Day For Quotes: Random

It was one of those weeks…. One where you love your family, and you could just scream at them at the same time! Thankfully (that is the word of the week is it not?) everything turned out just great. Funny enough it was, for me anyway, one of the best Thanksgivings I have ever had.

My brother’s wife extended an invitation to us to visit their house on Thanksgiving (Bless her beautiful heart). After convincing my Mother it would be fine if we had to share Thanksgiving with her family as well as ours, a wonderful time was had by all. Sadly, a bitter taste was left in my mouth about the whole “who gets who, and which family gets whom on Thanksgiving” thing. We ended up blending 2 families that know each other not at all, and had an absolutely blessed day.

So today, I give you a few random quotes from some of the things I have learned this week: Happy late Thanksgiving everyone!!

From Erin over at Slice o’ Heaven: (You really need to read her post!)

Thanksgiving…
1: the act of giving thanks
2: a prayer expressing gratitude
3: a day appointed for giving thanks for divine goodness: as the fourth Thursday in November observed as a legal holiday in the United States.

And from one of my favorite bloggers, (that I missed so much when she was gone!) Her Inspiration on her header just spoke to me. It was a reminder of the beautiful things in life! Thank you Cupcake!

I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing alot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

My absolute favorite picture from Thanksgiving. The one in black is my Angel. The other 3 are my brothers. Funny enough we are missing my brother’s oldest, and my youngest.

Quote of the week for me:

It’s not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our Thanksgiving. ~W.T. Purkiser

A Day For Quotes ~Priorities

Sunday again?  How fast the weeks are flying by.  I have a few quotes on priorities for you this week, I hope I will remember some of them when I am working on my own.  Have a great week!

A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child. ~ Forest Witcraft

The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities. ~ Stephen Covey

We are so busy doing the urgent that we don't have time to do the important. ~ Confucius

In My (Work) Neighborhood Tuesday ~Things that make you say “Awwww”

In my work neighborhood we have what I loving refer to as our '”backyard”.  When you step out of our backdoor at the bus garage, you are looking out at a large blank field with train tracks running across them.  Every spring a Mommy Fox returns to a den she has there and gives birth to her babies.  These pictures are from a spring when we caught Mommy Fox and her babies on camera.

Here is mommy fox, you can see her den there and how close she is to the train tracks!  Thankfully, the tracks are used very infrequently!

A Day For Quotes ~Siblings

Happy Sunday everyone!  Did you remember Day Light Savings time??  This week I have put together a few quotes on siblings, since I have a set in my house and well, I have one too!

Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet  ~Vietnamese Proverb

Sibling relationships...outlast marriages, survive the death of parents, resurface after quarrels that would sink any friendship. They flourish in a thousand incarnations of closeness and distance, warmth, loyalty and distrust. ~ Erica E. Goode

I don't believe an accident of birth makes people sisters or brothers. It makes them siblings, gives them mutuality of parentage. Sisterhood and brotherhood is a condition people have to work at.  ~Maya Angelou

A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.  ~ Isadora James

There is a little boy inside the man who is my brother ...Oh, how I hated that little boy. And how I love him too. ~Anna Quindlan

Siblings are the people we practice on, the people who teach us about fairness and cooperation and kindness and caring - quite often the hard way.  ~ Pamela Dugdale

Your siblings are the only people in the world who know what it's like to have been brought up the way you were.  ~ Betsy Cohen
